Personal:

I have alway done some physical activity - aerobic classes, hiking, skiing, tennis.....started long distance running about twelve years ago when I was in the midst of a divorce.  Go ahead 'run' with that metaphor. I joined a Galloway running group and still have several close friends from that time.  I realised pretty quickly that I did not like the walk break method and found a wonderful coach who provided my schedules and training. I have continued to run but without guidance for several years.  Now I am determined to actually run with a goal and a plan.  I have even contacted the former coach.

I live in the beautiful northern California wine country where I must say our weather is always ideal, comparatively.  I work full time, enjoy hiking, knitting, movies, plays............I actually enjoy it all!

I have one adult son who lives in Portland, Oregon and enjoy visiting there as that area is very runner friendly and has some great routes.

I had the worst day of my working career yesterday and it took a lot just to make it out of bed this morning.  The run was cut short because I started late.  Nice morning rounding a corner to lots of singing birds - I said 'good morning' outloud to them.  Did they answer or was it my imagination.  So pretty, the sunrise this morning.  As I rounded a corner near the end of the run there was the sun - this incredibly huge orange ball hanging low in the sky.  It was not completely round due to the fog - it looked like some artist had painted it with too much paint and the bottom was starting to run.  Life is Good!!!
